PiCLS - PhDs in the College of Life Sciences, Dundee

Welcome

    We are the PhD Students' Association in the College of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee

    We organise a range of events including sports and social events, an annual PhD retreat, pub nights, a solely PhD student-organised symposium and an annual ceilidh

    We hold monthly meetings with divisional PhD reps where we discuss upcoming events and get feedback and ideas for new ideas. These meetings are open to all PhD students

    We try and help all PhD students at CLS to meet up outside of the lab environment and we represent CLS PhD students on college management boards as well

    We are heavily involved in organising many CLS public engagement events, along with CLSPA

    And finally we organise a range of seminars and workshops to assist with future career development of PhD students.

Upcoming Events

1. 2011 PhD Retreat: 16th - 18th of September in the beautiful surroundings of Craigower Lodge, Newtonmore in the Highlands. A weekend of outdoor activities, student talks and posters, as well as the chance to meet up and relax with other PhD students. Sign up now full!

2. CLSPA/PiCLS BBQ: Sat 20th of Aug at Botanic Gardens. Free food and drinks, fun BBQ sports (frisbee, egg and spoon/three legged/wheelbarrow races etc.)

1. A big THANK YOU to the 2011 Symposium Committee for organising this year's PiCLS Symposium, which was a great success and all of the feedback has been really positive! Photos are now up on the PiCLS facebook page. Anyone who fancies having a go organising next year's Symposium, please email or come and have a chat with one of the PiCLS committee.
